Pool Party
The holidays are here!
Whoot... but on one hand, goodbye Form Four, I'll miss you so much. More than you'll ever know. And I'm serious.
Form Four has been like... a rollercoaster for me. Good times. Bad times. Easygoing times. Hard times. I'll still remember all those fun and ditzy times my friends and I had. Growing up in Form Four wasn't easy. Learning that we have more responsibilities sure put a dead weight in our hearts, especially mine. But with growing up and more responsibilities, come more freedom, renewed freedom. We revelled in knowing that we were no longer kids anymore, we get more freedom from our parents but the price to pay is of course - hard work in our studies and heavier responsibilities.
I can't say that I'm exactly looking forward to Form Five, because well, Form Five will be harder... as in subjects and so on. And as usual, there is a worry in me that I might not survive Form Five. Because Form Five is so different from Form Four, or so I hear, and for that reason, I fear that I cannot do well in Form Five.
Anyway, I'll be looking forward to the new experiences I'll learn in Form Five. I just hope it'll be sweeter and easygoing experiences than I have experienced late this year.
Well... a few of us went to Sat's pool side party last night. And though we were expecting more people - guys just because it rained doesn't mean the pool party was cancelled!!!!! - we had quite a swell time I might say. Just talked, played badminton, ate, played pool... the rest is just quite a hazy memory.
So, who turned up? Arr... well, me, Mel, Tan, Jeremy, Noel, Sat, Aidan, Khang, Jackie, Alvin. The ten amigos. Okay, that sounds wrong and weird.
So anyway, after getting lost for a around fifteen minutes, my mum was getting anxious because the night was dark and stormy. Rain was pouring in buckets. So I called Noel who then directed me to De Summit, where Sat lives.
Upon reaching De Summit, I went up with Noel (who came down to fetch me up to Sat's room) and Alvin (who arrived right after me) to Sat's place. And since it was still raining - though it was lightening to a drizzle - Noel, me, Mel and Tan decided to play that yelling Snap game. Whereby we're supposed to yell each other's long long names whenever you overturn cards of the same colour. Haha... Noel was so blur. I think he ended up taking most of the cards. Booyah!
After a while, we decided to go down to the pool and to have our dinner in the drizzling rain. Turned out that everyone brought either noodles or kuey tiaw. Ahaha... so we just had to make do with it. I think there were like 2 plates of noodles and 3 plates of kuey tiaw. Tan brought some kueh that was damn nice and Khang brought cheese cake and some tarts which were out of this world. And Khang said he baked them when we told him that the pastries were bloody good. Nice try, Khang, but for heaven's sakes, do you expect us to believe you baked such professional pastries? In your dreams...
Then the entire table poked fun at me. Tan made this really lame joke about me obssessing over my position of Head Girl. She claims that I am forever wearing my red tie and blazer at home and ordering my maid to do work. What the hell?? When will you guys get that school's out and the holidays have begun? I am no longer Head Girl of Lodge School for the next two months so gimme a break will you? Aish, Tan, you're hopeless.
Then we played snooker... at which I had one try at it and blew it - the entire table roared with laughter at me. Okay, guys, I get it, I suck at snooker but heck, at least I gave it a try right? *shrugs*
Then Aidan, Tan and me decided to play badminton upstairs. But the court was taken so we had to wait our turn. Tan and me played at the sideline without a net - Mel later came up and joined us whereas Aidan abandoned us. Ahahaha.... Then Sat came to join us in badminton and then the entire fun began.
Sat hit the shuttlecock too high and it flew over the wall. Then it landed on top of the wall, covered by this dome like structure. Me being the stupid idiot, thought it flew THROUGH THE SOLID BRICK WALL and into the terrace outside. I blame my shortsighted eyes for this.
So anyway, I pulled open the doors to the terrace and peeked outside. Upon this, Khang and Aidan (who had just came up), Mel, Sat and Tan rolled on the floor with laughter. I turned and then I realized that I had just made my stupidest mistake. Yeah guys, I'll remember this for life. I still can picture Mel Khang and Tan rolling over and over again, bellowing with laugher. The memory is shameful.
Okay, so, the shuttlecock was stuck on top of this really high wall. Sat tried to get it down by asking Jackie (being the tallest) to get a boost from him and to get the thing down. But the wall was too high. So Alvin and Sat carried one whole TOWER of chairs mind you to reach the wall. But by the time they managed to carry that WHOLE STACK of chairs from the pool downstairs, they had almost broken their backs and - Jackie had disappeared. Ahahaha... maybe he didn't want to attempt the crazy feat.
Anyway, while Sat was yelling Jackie's name, up comes Noel, looking dazed. So, Sat dragged him into the whole fiasco by getting him to climb the tower of chairs. But by the laws of Physics, the chairs couldn't withstand a very puzzled Noel climbing it like a stairwell. So Alvin and Sat had to go ALL THE WAY DOWN to get some more chairs and to pile them up. So Noel, hopped onto this shorter deck of chairs and with a lil help from the two guys, onto the taller stack of chairs. And yeah, Noel got the shuttlecock down and Tan and me broke into applause. Pity though, Mel wasn't there to see it. LOL! Joking joking...
Then tired out, Noel, Tan, Sat and me dragged chairs out into the terrace, sat down and began to talk. Actually, Tan tried to scare a poor bird out of his/her nest first before she gave up. So anyway, we started talking about everything and anything.
Gosh, I will remember that night on the terrace the most. I mean, like Tan and Sat agrees with me (Noel remained pretty reserved throughout the time on the terrace) the terrace is so quiet and peaceful. It overlooks so many things, like the serene, calm pool and a really cool basketball court. It's so breezy up there, there are just enough lights (bright enough for you to manage to see each other but dim enough that your eyes don't go kabonkers) and there are pretty flowers lining the balcony. It's so... perfect. Plus there aren't annoying people surrounding you.
We watched planes coming in, bound for Kch Airport and talked about anything. About our hopes and dreams for the future. About our deepest darkest fears. About our past experiences. About our funny incidents. About our ambitions. About aeroplanes and our incidents in them. About our dreams at night and what they meant. Ahaha... if you're wondering whether we were bitching about anyone, we didn't. So don't get your hopes too high.
For once, we were talking about everything under the sun, opening up about our lives (esp me about my fears which I have never told anyone) and just chatting about something outside the scope of our school syllabus for once. And just revelling in the knowledge that school's out and we have two more months before we begin a new nightmare by the name of Form Five.
We also did a lot of remeniscing and the atmosphere went a bit moody when we came to realize that next year will be our last year in Lodge. Then Alvin came onto the terrace and the calm and quiet spell was broken.
Alvin decided to push Noel into the pool once they were both on the ground. Poor Noel, he hit the water like a sinking rock. Ahaha... then we all played badminton and then the night was over. At around like 10.30 I went home but the others except Jackie, Mel and Aidan continued playing a fool and badminton.
Sigh... the holidays have begun and I'm not exactly happy. For one thing, am still a little sore about what I found out yesterday (and don't try asking me about this because unless I decide to tell you, I won't) and that I have Physics and Add Maths hw to do. Plus I have a Chem test to study for the first week of Form Five.
Ah well... life's still swell. School's out for the next two months and I intend to live every waking moment of it with fun.
